Go to Andre's other site,,, 4BTSWAPS.COM and then to the build up section. the name of my Build Thread is "Here's the DeScrambler"

You can see pretty much the whole construction project with pictures there. Lots of pics.

the DeScrambler is a 100% built from scratch rig. I designed and built the frame and all of the attachments. It has a Fiberglass body and will have a fiberglass hardtop and doors too.Only Jeep part on the whole thing is the grill.

The drive train is a 4BT Cummins diesel, with a GM TH400 auto trans, US Gear Overdrive, Atlas 4.3 drivers side drop transfercase. The axles are Currie Iron Jock HP D60 Rear and D44HP in front both with 4.10's and ARB's airlockers. tires are 37x12.50x15 goodyear MTR's.

Suspension is 4 Teraflex fiberglass monoleaves with Johnny Joints on each end. with Bilstein 5150 shocks.

Interior when done will sport GM Yukon Denali Top o line seats, soundproofing carpert A/C, and a set of Isspro gages.

I am in mid seat installation which is more of a PITA than I had originally bargained for but just sitting in those seats is like sitting the hand of the "Biffyman". As soon as that and a few smaller projects are finished then it all comes apart for weldout and finish and paint.

Still got probably 6 months (I hope) to go on this project til it is functional.

The plan for this vehicle is to do long distance trips to nowhere destinations, We really want to do the Continential Divide ride, and a trip to Alaska. but my main usage will be as a "Shooting Brake" . for those of you, a shooting brake is a proper vehicle to transport you and yours to the shooting venue of choice. The classic shooting brake is a Rolls Royce Woody station wagon.

I should be able to go to some pretty remote venues. as this thing was designed using my years of Rockcrawler building experience to take care of capibility and then making it comfortable so you can stand to be in it for long periods.

So far it looks and feels right! Just for reference the cowl in front of the windshield is 59" off the ground, and the bottom of the door is 38" high. I probably won't have to worry about getting my feet wet but it will definately need steps to get in an out of.

The last pic was taken yesterday 1/30/10 that's where it is at right now.
